Palladium, together with Rhodium, Ruthenium, Osmium, Iridium, and Platinum form a group of elements referred to as the platinum group metals (PGM). Because of its corrosion resistance and Grey-White color, Palladium is used extensively in jewelry-making in certain alloys called “white gold.” It also may be alloyed with platinum or substituted for it. Palladium White Gold is more durable, more white and more dense than it's commercial counterpart, Nickel White Gold. Palladium 950 is 95% palladium and 5% Ruthenium. It is a very good substitute for white gold. It is more durable than white gold and less expensive.
